"Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us."
--Hebrews 12:1
As I write this, I am in my final week of training; I run a 5K in five days.
It was a goal that I didn't see coming. Even though I grew up playing competitive sports, from softball to volleyball to tennis, I have never done any sort of endurance running.
Back in September, I felt God's call to spend more time together and to challenge myself beyond my boundaries. I made the decision to train for and run in a race before year's end.
It has been a difficult challenge, both physically and mentally, but I have not done it alone. There were many mornings when I ran quietly and thanked God at the end for physically allowing me to finish.and many more mornings when I talked to Him the entire way.
I have relished the unexpected opportunity for uninterrupted communion with Him. And, I truly feel that the lessons I learned along the way can be used in every other aspect of my life.
As we enter into a new year, what are your goals for your Christian school heading forward? Are there any new challenges that you want to meet in the coming months? Has God called you to step outside of your boundaries and tackle something unexpected?
I encourage you to think outside your comfort zone and explore something that is both unfamiliar yet ultimately beneficial to you and your mission as an educational administrator.
And, when you do, I want to hear about it. You can reach me at jill@cspmag.com.
Happy New Year and God Bless,
