WELCOME TO CHRISTIAN SCHOOL PRODUCTS
Dec 2009 Editor's Letter
By: Jill Pinheiro

Is Christ truly at the center of your Christian school?

I'm not talking just about curriculum, necessarily…but every aspect. Is your private school thoroughly distinguished as a private Christian school?

I was reading the latest post from Brian Simmons, president of the Association of Christian Schools International, www.acsi.org, and his message really resonated with me.

"One of my friends often says, 'The main thing is to keep the main One the main thing.' What is the main thing in Christian education? I believe the main thing is that we need to keep Christ in Christian education," he wrote. "In times of crisis, we must return as a movement to our mission, our reason for existence."

What makes Christian schools distinctive? Simmons sums it up: "Simply put, a Christian school is an academic institution founded on the Word of God, focused on Jesus Christ, and led, supported, and staffed by Christians dedicated to the development of individuals into fully prepared Christ followers who desire to fulfill God's purpose for their lives."

Is this description on point with your school's mission, objectives, and operation?

As the calendar year and semester draw to a close, it's the universal time to evaluate both life and work and set goals for the months ahead. What's on your list this year? What have you done that you're exceptionally proud of within your school so far this school year? Conversely, how would you like to improve your facility and programs going forward?

I'm always interested in hearing from you. You can reach me at jill@cspmag.com.

God Bless,
