In High Point, North Carolina, High Point Christian Academy (HPCA) – one of the region’s premier private schools – recently celebrated the opening of its new gymnasium, dubbed “The Gym.”
The 16,800-square-foot building houses an NCAA regulation sized basketball and volleyball court with two cross courts and bleachers for approximately 800 spectators, as well as two state-of-the-art LED scoreboards, sound system, and pre-game accent lighting.
The building itself is a pre-engineered metal building with metal wall panels and brick on the exterior to match the existing building, as well as a concrete slab on grade floor structure.
The gym floor boasts a high-performance maple athletic flooring system featuring custom graphics and school colors.
Other spaces include locker rooms, visitor changing rooms, public restrooms, a concession area, storage, mechanical/electrical rooms, and offices for the athletic director and coaches.
Lindsey Architecture provided architecture, interior design, and construction administration services. Samet Corporation served as the design-build contractor. Structural Solutions provided structural engineering services.

Home of the Cougars, HPCA hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony, coupled with a dinner and special message of gratitude and recognition, on its campus.
Attendees included HPCA faculty, staff, students, design and construction partners, community members, media representatives, and others.
